Agents everywhere are finally able to explore the virus-plagued streets of NYC in the closed beta for Tom Clancy’s The Division. The beta gives players a glimpse of the exploration, combat, and customization they can expect when the game is released this coming March. Here’s how things are looking so far.
Graphics: The Snowdrop engine was created by Ubisoft Massive specifically for The Division and it shows. The graphics looks great, and the weather and lighting effects do an amazing job of setting the tone of the game.
Gameplay: The Tom Clancy games have always been known for their excellent tactical gunplay and The Division is no exception. The weapons control well and mods make appreciable changes to their handling. The cover system is intuitive and NPC behavior is varied and realistic.
Multiplayer: The main story mission has co-op matchmaking for the Normal and Hard difficulties. The Dark Zone PvP area allows players to search for high level enemy NPCs and loot. Players can help each other explore The Dark Zone or they can turn rogue and steal loot from each other. It definitely sets itself apart from the other popular multiplayer shooters out there right now.
The closed beta will end on January 31, 2016 and beta codes are available by preordering the game. The game will be released on March 8, 2016 for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
